LIRC has initiated “Virtual Bookshelf” since the month of January 2021 in addition to our regular "Thematic Displays" to complement the reading needs of the community who were at home owing to the COVID 19 lockdown.

Virtual Bookshelf is a thematic display of books that can be downloaded and read on PCs or mobiles. The reader will have free access to e-books on different themes. Now, although the lockdown is lifted, the LIRC team has committed itself to scavenge the Internet and make available to all select e books which are in public domain / open access format.

It was decided by our team to have two displays every month – one is the Physical Thematic Display and the other is the Virtual bookshelf.

The first Virtual Bookshelf had 13 books pertaining to Computer Engineering and Information Technology.
